Our Founders
Travers Jakimczyk is a New York-based architectural and interior designer and co-founder of Annex Works. Born and raised in New England, he earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture degrees from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. His work includes purpose-built and thoughtful renovation of existing spaces, with experience across private residential, residential development, and hospitality projects.
He believes design begins with understanding; the people, the place, and the constraints that shape a project. Each project evolves through dialogue, investigation, and close collaboration to balance design ambition with pragmatic considerations. Through rigor, craft, and thoughtful detailing, projects are developed to feel considered, purposeful, and enduring.

Katherine Mendez is a New York based architectural and interior designer and co-founder of Annex Works. Raised in New York City, she earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture degrees from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. Her work spans private residential, residential development, and hospitality projects, with a focus on spaces that feel considered, personal, and lived in.
She believes every project begins with a narrative, drawn from the architecture, the site, and the experiences and aspirations of the people she is designing for. That narrative becomes the thread running through every decision, from the overall concept to the final material selection, ensuring the original vision stays intact through every phase of the process.
At Annex Works, Katherine leads projects with creative vision and a focus on keeping the process moving with clarity and purpose. She works closely with clients and collaborators to translate vision into reality, with a particular focus on materiality, atmosphere, and the details that make a space feel complete.
