A selective interior renovation of a 1930s craftsman cottage in Connecticut, preserving the warmth and character of the original architecture while introducing a fresh, considered layer of design for a young Nordic family.

The brief was rooted in how the family lives. Active and deeply connected, they wanted every space to feel like an invitation to gather, open, unhurried, and honest. The design responds to that spirit without imposing on it. Craftsman details were retained and celebrated, while new material selections bring a Nordic sensibility to the existing bones
of the home.

Natural materials throughout. Depth achieved not through complexity but through the careful layering of texture, linen against oak, stone against plaster, rough against smooth. The palette is restrained and the detailing unpretentious, resulting in spaces that feel simultaneously fresh and quietly timeless.
